Requirements:
|
High School or Equivalent (GED). 2nd Shift position, work in the Emergency Room every other weekend, including 2 holidays/year Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required: (i.e. supervision, computers, etc.) 1. Skilled in medical terminology preferred or completion of training within 6 months of hire. 2. Proficient in use of personal computer, with accurate keyboard entry of 74 key strokes per minute. 3. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast paced environment with constant interruptions. 4. Customer service orientated with strong interpersonal skills and phone etiquette. Ability to relate effectively to a variety of customers in a professional and courteous manner. 5. Sound reading and grammar skills, as well as demonstrated analytical ability to collect and interpret insurance and contract information. 6. Demonstrated analytical ability to identify financial viability of patients via computer software or questions directed to patient. 7. Excellent organizational skills 8. Knowledge and experience in coverage practices, terminology, and requirements for referrals and authorization/pre-certification used by third party payors preferred, or completion of training within 6 months of hire. 9. Demonstrated openness to continued personal and professional development. 10. Must have effective vision with ability to distinguish colors on a computer screen, as well as manual dexterity for fine manipulation of keyboard and mouse use. 11. Ability to speak and hear clearly, to allow for effective communication from various customers with frequent interruptions. 12. Cognitive ability to allow for organizing multiple concepts and information, analyzing data, and basic problems.

Works with patients, physicians and office staff, clinicians, and employers to obtain and accurately record necessary demographic and financial information, maximizing efficient use of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare provider resources and increase Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare’s financial viability. Effectively communicates registration information to internal and external customers, while maintaining a focus on customer service and patient confidentiality.
