Requirements:
|
Associate degree preferred, 3-4 years sterile processing experience, Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience required. Leadership qualities must be demonstrated for staff motivation/development and the ablility to manage complex situations. Strong communication skills to interact with other leaders, associates in the surgical services department, vendors, and physicians. Good working relationships must be maintained using poise and tact to resolve issues efficiently.
Knowledge of aseptic technique, medical supplies/equipment, surgical instruments, sterile processing procedures and computer operation is needed. Advanced technical ability required to understand and enforce department policies and procedures.
CRCST or equivalent certification within 18 monhts of hire IAHCSMM or comparable organization

Description:
|
Provides direction and training for Sterile Processing Technicians to supply the hospital with clean patient equipment, sterile surgical and non-surgical instruments, & appropriate surgical & medical case carts. Maintains a safe working environment consistent in accordance with OSHA, CDC, FDA and AAMI recommendations. The Sterile Processing Supervisor competency level is that of an expert in decontamination principles, instrument inspection/assembly, sterlization, case cart assembly and inventory management.
